Arindam promoted Tamul in 2012. Prior to this, he also co-founded Dhriiti, a national-level NGO based in New Delhi.
In a career spanning over 20 years, he has steered Tamul towards growth and resilience, which is not only reflected in the balance sheets but also in the communities that he has nurtured over the years.
Arindam’s business acumen, integrity, responsibility, pioneering, and honesty stem from his childhood experiences in Jamshedpur. Coming from a family where his forefathers have worked for iconic business houses in India, Arindam has strived hard to create a robust business and yet deeply cared for its various stakeholders.
While pursuing Management in IIRMA, Arindam strengthened his belief in creating development through a profitable business model where every stakeholder had a slice of the winning pie.
Arindam envisions Tamul to become a profitable brand in the eco-friendly disposable segment, with a strong focus on creating sustainable livelihood and employment in rural India.
Within the company, Arindam has designed operational models where rural tribal communities value-add a natural resource in their villages and produce compostable dinnerware which is the sustainable solution to the pollution created by plastic disposables globally.
A true testament to his leadership lies in the ways Arindam has navigated Tamul through several crises — demonetization and 2018 and the COVID-19 pandemic. Under Arindam’s direction, Tamul has emerged stronger through these crises multiple times and penetrated newer markets generated more revenues, and impacted communities.
Under Arindam’s grit and commitment, today the equity of the Tamul brand is strong and the track record of creating consumer value and social impact is unparalleled.
At the factory, Manabendra continually optimizes operations to ensure efficient and sustainable plate production while addressing production challenges with creative solutions. His strengths lie in maintaining rigorous quality assurance and sustainability standards while meeting production targets.

HIV/AIDS, and trafficking to the for-profit sector, where she discovered the transformative potential of entrepreneurship for women empowerment and equality.
Since 2013, Debaleena has been dedicated to empowering tribal women in Northeast India through the areca nut leaf plate-making industry. Her work with Tamul Plates Marketing Private Limited has been instrumental in the creation of successful women-led areca nut leaf plate-making clusters, generating sustainable income for these women micro-entrepreneurs. These women-led clusters produce ecofriendly plates and bowls which solve the twin challenges of environmental pollution and economic disparity. These women-led areca nut leaf plate-making clusters have proven to be remarkably resilient because even during the COVID-19 pandemic, these women continued to earn their income and support their families when every other income generation activity in rural North East India had ceased to exist.
Debaleena’s vision is to continue expanding opportunities for women entrepreneurs in Northeast India and beyond. Empowering women through financial indolence and participating in their journey fosters her personal growth and confidence.
